The Most Expensive Homes For Sale In NC

We’ve all seen the fabulous homes on HGTV, envious of its owners. We’ve witnessed the palatial compounds celebrities call “home” and thought to ourselves: I can’t wait to live in a mansion like that. You have maybe even toured an enormous home like the Biltmore House here in Asheville and drooled purely at the number of bathrooms (there are 43, by the way).

Because of this envy, I’ve compiled a list of the most expensive homes on the market in North Carolina! Take a look below to see if any are close by. Who knows? You may even be able to drive to a few!

1.) 46 Chimney Point Lake Toxaway, NC 28747 – $5,975,000

What can we say? This house is absolutely stunning – it’s number 1 on the list for a reason. The 10,000 square-foot home features 5 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, walk-in his/her closets, and a library. It sits on almost 1.5 acres and is the home to mountain and lake views alike. Whether you like to sip coffee and take in the morning air or you like to jet ski on the lake, this house appeals to everyone. Did we mention it has a 200-bottle, temperature-controlled wine cooler? It’s been on the market for 79 days and it could be yours! Click here to see more photos!

2.) 149 Blue Violet Way Durham, NC 27713 – $5,100,000

Second place is really just second best. At least, it is in this case. On top of 4 acres, this home is sure to take your breath away. That’s to say: IT’S HUGE. Have you ever wondered what over 10,000 square feet could include? Let me tell you: 8 bathrooms (6 full, 2 half), fenced iron double gates, private dock with views overlooking the lake, two garages, and an entryway fit for a celebrity (a.k.a. YOU). Zillow says your estimated mortgage would only be $20,750 per month…you’ve got that, right? Check it out!

3.) 1121 Pembroke Jones Dr#3R46 Wilmington, NC 28404 – $5,000,000

Once again, we have a waterfront property that is going to make you scream at your desk. Apologize to your boss then focus up. For $5 million, you can get a little more space than the two-bedroom apartment you’re staying in now (No? Just me?). It features a gourmet kitchen, a 400+ bottle wine cellar, a wet bar, and AN ELEVATOR. You have a landfall boatslip for your afternoon adventures and a guest wing (with 4 bedrooms) that your friends can nap in because they drank too much of the wine you keep in that cellar. Look, look, look!

4.) 6 Beach Road S, Wilmington, NC 28411 – $4,995,000

Soak this in…#4 is located on a gated, PRIVATE ISLAND. For $4.9 million dollars you can live on a private island…I’m calling to get the loan now.

Just under 5,000 square-feet, this house is SURE to check all of the boxes on your list with its 4 bedrooms on the second floor, 6 bathrooms, third-floor master suite with a fireplace, and an IN-HOME GYM. You can get that beach body while you live, well, on the beach! It’s located in the middle of the island and has easy access to the local Yacht Club!

If you’re worried about the price, don’t be. It just suffered a price cut of $255,000. You can swing it now, can’t you? Click here to see!

5.) 407 Bradley Creek Point Rd Wilmington, NC 28403 – $4,950,000

This Normandy-inspired property is rounding out our list as the house with history!

With European interior doors and mantles dating back to the 17th Century, this property showcases the importance of character and detail. 4 bedrooms, 5 baths, and some serious outdoor space make this home ideal for lake parties, holiday get-togethers, and general lounging around (who doesn’t love that?). The listing agent described the house as “the perfect blend of a neighborhood setting, timeless design, and commitment to only the finest materials.” See the photos here!

So tell me…which house are you buying? I’ve got my eye on #3!
